The MO Support Service Provider (SSP) Program is a grant funded Program, established by the Missouri Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (MCDHH), that provides DeafBlind(DB) individuals optimal opportunities to access their community and live autonomously through guidance, environmental information, and basic communication assistance by use of a skilled SSP.  Touch, equality, choices, and understanding are values that the individuals within the program respect and appreciate.  
Availability: The Program is funded through a grant between July - June, annually; this fiscal year, services are available to those eligible until June 6, 2021.
Program eligibility: proof of progressive hearing and vision loss, MO resident for a minimum of 1 year prior to intake, and age 15 years or older. 
Services include: receiving environmental information, basic communication assistance, public and/or private transportation assistance, and physical guidance from a Program SSP in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings.  
Participant-directed services: DB participant requests directly with their preferred SSPs, contract between participant and provider is required for Program paid services, and completed outings are confirmed to Beyond by participant.
Geographic area served: Missouri, statewide.
Fee: free.  Intake and training are free while SSP services are paid through Program funds.  Participants might experience fees for transportation services upfront; however, reimbursement is available with proper documentation.
The MO SSP Program is constantly seeking SSPs.  
Eligibility: age 18 years or older, basic DB cultural knowledge, comfortable communication skills, internet and email access, valid driver's license, and background screening fulfillment.
Fee: screening is paid through Program funds.  Specialized training is free.
Geographic areas in need: Missouri, statewide.
